The WhatsApp Business API is the way Meta lets a business connect WhatsApp to software: a shared inbox for your team, broadcasts, chatbots or an AI agent that answers by itself. You reach it through a provider, and the provider charges a monthly fee on top of what Meta charges for messages.
For a business in Nigeria, the currency matters as much as the price. A plan in naira stays the same when the exchange rate moves; a plan in dollars does not. So this list puts naira prices first, then dollar prices, each with the address of the company's pricing page and the date we checked it.

Short answer
For a business in Nigeria, the providers that publish naira prices are WapsChat (from ₦4,950 a month plus a setup fee, based in Lagos) and Siteti (from ₦46,400 a month, based in Lagos, which says Meta's fees are included). In US dollars: AiSensy ($45), Wati ($49), Zoko ($49.99), Interakt ($55), respond.io ($99, or $79 paid yearly), CertuAI ($120 on the official API, with the AI agent included) and Gallabox ($150, billed quarterly). Celcom Africa publishes Kenyan shilling prices and quotes Nigeria on request.
Who wrote this list. CertuAI wrote it, and CertuAI is on it, at number 8. The order comes from the rule explained under "How we checked", not from a judge outside the company. Every other price comes from that company's own pricing page, with the address and the date we checked it right next to it. Check them and decide for yourself.

The published figures are Kenya starting rates: Basic KES 15,000 a month with 2 users and a scripted bot, Pro KES 30,000 with AI bots, Enterprise KES 60,000, plus a one-time setup of KES 15,000 per number. Template messages are billed separately. For Nigeria, the page says to talk to sales for a quote.

The rule for the order. Naira prices first, cheapest first, because a naira bill does not move with the exchange rate. Then US dollar prices, cheapest first. Then prices in other currencies. Monthly fees are compared; setup fees are shown in each entry but do not change the order. On a tie, alphabetical order.
That rule puts CertuAI eighth. This page is about official WhatsApp Business API providers, and CertuAI's $75 Start connects your number by QR code, not through the official API, so CertuAI is ranked at $120, the price of Pro, where the official API starts. CertuAI does not bill in naira, so WapsChat and Siteti come first, and AiSensy, Wati, Zoko, Interakt and respond.io start cheaper. The difference is that CertuAI's price includes the AI agent: on AiSensy, Wati, Zoko and Interakt it is an extra or a later plan, and on respond.io AI agents start at Growth ($199 a month).
We opened each company's own pricing page on 11 September 2026 and wrote down the price, the address of the page and the date. We did not use prices from review sites, from sales calls or from memory. We did not convert any currency: every price is shown in the currency the company shows it in, and $ always means US dollars.
Some pricing pages change with the country you visit from. Wati's page loads its price list from Wati's own servers by country: it gives rupees for India and US dollars for Nigeria, Kenya and the Philippines, and we show both. Interakt sends visitors from outside India to a separate page in dollars, which is the only one we could open. When a page showed us different numbers depending on how we opened it, the entry says price on request and tells you why, instead of picking one.
Meta, the company that owns WhatsApp, charges separately for messages a business starts, such as marketing messages and reminders sent from a template. The rate depends on the country and on the kind of message. None of the prices on this page include those fees unless the entry says so in the company's own words. Ask each provider how they count and pass them on.
CertuAI's price comes from its plans page, which is the same price the checkout charges. There is no display price that differs from the price you pay.

HelloDuty publishes plans from $199 a month for SMS, USSD, WhatsApp and voice across Africa, but the pricing page does not say what the WhatsApp part includes, so we left it out. SleekFlow is left out because its pricing page shows a price that depends on the country you visit from, and we could not see the price for Nigeria.
A plan priced in dollars costs more naira every time the naira falls. A plan priced in naira keeps the same number on your bill. Siteti says this in its own words on its pricing page, and it is a fair point for any small business planning a budget.
Dollar plans are paid by card. Before you choose one, check that your card allows payments in dollars and what your bank charges for them.
Meta's fees for messages a business starts come on top of most plans on this page, and the rate depends on the country and the kind of message. Siteti says Meta's fees are included in its price. For every other provider, ask.
WapsChat and Celcom Africa publish a setup fee. Ask what it covers: connecting your number to the API, verifying your business with Meta, building your first flows, or all three.
Ask who owns the WhatsApp Business account after setup. If you leave the provider, you want to take your number and your approved message templates with you.
Ask how long setup takes. Some tools connect a number the same day; others need Meta to approve your business first.
