10 best AI agents for WhatsApp for small businesses in 2026

An AI agent for WhatsApp is software that reads what your customer wrote and answers by itself, from what you taught it about your business. It is not the old menu bot that says "type 1 for prices". It should handle the second and third question too, in the customer's own words.

Almost every WhatsApp tool now says it has AI. The price you see first is often the plan without the AI part. This list shows what it costs to actually get an AI agent answering on WhatsApp, with the address of each company's pricing page and the date we checked it.

What is the best AI agent for WhatsApp for a small business?

Short answer

For a small business, the cheapest AI agents for WhatsApp with a published price are Chatfuel AI PRO ($49 a month) and Zoko (from $74.98 with its AI agent add-on, before usage fees). Next come CertuAI ($75 a month, up to 800 AI replies, CRM included), AiSensy ($95 outside India, ₹2,850 in India), Interakt ($129.99 plus taxes) and respond.io ($199, or $159 paid yearly). Wati, Gallabox, DoubleTick and SleekFlow complete the ten.

Who wrote this list. CertuAI wrote it, and CertuAI is on it, at number 3. The order comes from the rule explained under "How we checked", not from a judge outside the company. Every other price comes from that company's own pricing page, with the address and the date we checked it right next to it. Check them and decide for yourself.

The 10 options, one by one

  1. 1. Chatfuel

Chatfuel Light is free, with Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp automations. AI PRO is $49 a month on monthly billing, with 29% off on yearly billing. The page says usage limits apply and sends you to a separate list of limits.

    What it is
A chatbot builder for Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp. Its paid plan, AI PRO, adds what it calls an AI sales manager, an AI knowledge base and AI-powered automations on top of the free plan.
    Who it is for
A shop that sells through Instagram and WhatsApp at the same time and wants one bot for both.
    What to watch
The pricing page does not say how many AI replies the $49 covers; it says usage limits apply. The free plan is for flows you build yourself, not for the AI agent.

Price published at https://chatfuel.com/pricing, checked on 2026-09-11.

  2. 2. Zoko

Starter $49.99 a month, with a markup of $0.015 per conversation. Each AI agent is an add-on at $24.99 a month, plus a fee per result: Guru costs $0.09 per resolution after the first 100. So the first AI agent starts at $74.98 a month before usage. 7-day free trial.

    What it is
A WhatsApp tool built around online stores, with a shared inbox, campaigns and a store widget. Its AI agents are sold one by one: Guru answers questions from your store policies, and others track orders and sell.
    Who it is for
An online store that wants order questions and store policy questions answered on WhatsApp.
    What to watch
The bill has three moving parts: the plan, the AI agent add-on and a fee each time the AI solves a chat. Busy months cost more.

Price published at https://www.zoko.io/pricing, checked on 2026-09-11.

  3. 3. CertuAI

Start $75 a month: the AI agent on one WhatsApp number connected by scanning a QR code (like WhatsApp Web), up to 800 AI replies a month, with the CRM included. Pro $120 a month: the official WhatsApp Business API from Meta, up to 2,500 AI replies, a landing page and room for 5 people on the team (Start has 3). Monthly plans start with a 7-day trial on a card. The annual plan costs 10 months and has no trial.

    What it is
An AI agent that answers your customers on WhatsApp by itself, day and night. You tell it about your business in a chat (prices, hours, what you sell, what it must never promise) and it answers from that. There is no chatbot flow to draw. Every chat also becomes a contact in the built-in CRM.
    Who it is for
Owner of a small business who wants WhatsApp answered tonight, without hiring anyone to build a chatbot.
    What to watch
On Start your number connects by QR code, not through Meta's official Business API; the official API starts at Pro ($120). Start covers up to 800 AI replies a month; a busy shop needs Pro. Prices are in US dollars only, paid by card, so check that your card allows dollar payments. Phone answering is not part of the English plans. It is a young product with a small team in Brazil, not a platform with an account manager for big companies.

  4. 4. AiSensy

Outside India: Basic $45 a month plus the AI Agent Builder at $50 a month with 1,000 AI messages, which is $95 together. In India, on aisensy.com/pricing: Basic ₹1,500 a month plus the AI Agent Builder at ₹1,350 a month, which is ₹2,850 together. The page says add-ons are charged on top of any plan.

    What it is
An Indian WhatsApp marketing and inbox tool. Its WhatsApp AI Agent Builder is an add-on that answers from a knowledge base you fill in, with what AiSensy calls long-term memory.
    Who it is for
A business in India that already sends broadcasts on WhatsApp and wants an AI agent on the same number.
    What to watch
The AI agent is always an extra on top of a plan, and 1,000 AI messages a month is the amount included in the add-on price.

Price published at https://aisensy.com/pricing/usd, checked on 2026-09-11.

  5. 5. Interakt

Growth $55 a month plus taxes. The WhatsApp AI Agents add-on is $74.99 a month for Growth and Advanced, with 100 AI messages included and $0.011 per AI message after that. Together that is $129.99 a month plus taxes before extra messages.

    What it is
A WhatsApp tool from Jio Haptik with campaigns, a shared inbox and a sales CRM. Its WhatsApp AI Agents add-on switches on three agents at once: sales, lead qualification and customer support.
    Who it is for
A growing team that wants AI to qualify leads and hand the good ones to a salesperson.
    What to watch
Only 100 AI messages are included in the add-on. Visitors from outside India are sent to a separate dollar page, so Indian prices may differ.

Price published at https://www.interakt.shop/pricing-us/, checked on 2026-09-11.

  6. 6. respond.io

Starter $99 a month with 5 users ($79 a month paid yearly). Growth $199 a month with 10 users ($159 paid yearly) and 1,000 monthly active contacts to start. The page says AI usage is included at no extra cost on Growth, Advanced and Enterprise, and that WhatsApp fees are not included in any plan.

    What it is
A shared inbox for WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger and more, built for teams of several people, with workflows and AI agents.
    Who it is for
A team of five or more people answering chats together, who wants AI to take the first reply.
    What to watch
AI agents start at Growth, not Starter. Growth charges $12 per 100 extra monthly active contacts, so a busy month raises the bill.

Price published at https://respond.io/pricing, checked on 2026-09-11.

  7. 7. Gallabox

Basic ₹2,999, $150 or AED 549 a month, billed quarterly, with web AI agents only. AI agents on WhatsApp start at Essential: ₹6,999, $331 or AED 1,214 a month billed quarterly, or ₹5,599, $248 or AED 911 a month billed yearly. There is no month-to-month billing.

    What it is
An Indian WhatsApp platform for sales teams with AI agents, chatbot flows, campaigns and a shared inbox. It shows each plan in rupees, dollars and UAE dirhams.
    Who it is for
A sales team of six or more people who want AI to qualify leads and follow up across WhatsApp and Instagram.
    What to watch
You pay at least three months at a time, and the WhatsApp AI agent is not in the entry plan.

Price published at https://gallabox.com/pricing, checked on 2026-09-11.

  8. 8. Wati

Growth $49 a month for visitors from Nigeria, Kenya and the Philippines, or ₹2,999 a month for visitors from India. The plan cards list chatbots from Pro: $99 or ₹6,499 a month. The page describes Astra AI Agents as an add-on "priced separately" and does not show that price.

    What it is
One of the best known WhatsApp Business API tools, with a shared inbox, campaigns and chatbots. Its AI agents are called Astra.
    Who it is for
A business that wants a proven WhatsApp inbox and campaigns first, and may add AI later.
    What to watch
The AI agent price is not on the pricing page, so you cannot know the full cost before talking to them.

Price published at https://www.wati.io/pricing/, checked on 2026-09-11.

  9. 9. DoubleTick

    Price on request

    What it is
A WhatsApp tool for sales teams with a team inbox, bulk broadcasts and automation.
    Who it is for
A sales team that is happy to book a demo and get a quote.
    What to watch
No price on the page, and the page is not clear on which plans include AI agents.

DoubleTick's pricing page lists Starter, Pro and Enterprise with no price, and sends you to book a demo. On 11 September 2026 the same page said AI agents are "built into every plan" and, in the plan cards, "not available" on Starter and on Pro. Ask them which is true for the plan you are offered.

  10. 10. SleekFlow

    Price on request

    What it is
A platform that puts WhatsApp, Instagram and other chats in one shared inbox, sold by monthly active contacts.
    Who it is for
A business that sells in several countries and several languages from one inbox.
    What to watch
The price you see depends on where you are, and it is charged by monthly active contacts, so it grows with busy months.

SleekFlow's pricing page picks the currency from the country you visit from. When we opened it on 11 September 2026 it showed us prices in Brazilian reais, including on its US and Singapore pages. We do not publish a number converted from another country's price, so open the page from where you are.

How we checked

The rule for the order. Only tools whose pricing page says an AI agent can answer customers on WhatsApp made the list. They are sorted by the lowest month-to-month price at which that page says you get the AI agent, adding the AI add-on when it is sold separately. When two cost the same, the one whose pricing page tells you how many AI replies the price covers goes first, because that is the number that decides your real bill. Tools whose AI price is not published go last.

That rule puts CertuAI third, behind Chatfuel AI PRO at $49 and Zoko at $74.98 with its first AI agent add-on. CertuAI's $75 covers up to 800 AI replies a month and includes a CRM. Chatfuel's page says usage limits apply without giving the number, and Zoko adds a fee per resolution after the first 100 and $0.015 per conversation on Starter, so its bill grows in a busy month. If you care more about Instagram than WhatsApp, Chatfuel may be the better pick for you.

We opened each company's own pricing page on 11 September 2026 and wrote down the price, the address of the page and the date. We did not use prices from review sites, from sales calls or from memory. We did not convert any currency: every price is shown in the currency the company shows it in, and $ always means US dollars.

Some pricing pages change with the country you visit from. Wati's page loads its price list from Wati's own servers by country: it gives rupees for India and US dollars for Nigeria, Kenya and the Philippines, and we show both. Interakt sends visitors from outside India to a separate page in dollars, which is the only one we could open. When a page showed us different numbers depending on how we opened it, the entry says price on request and tells you why, instead of picking one.

Meta, the company that owns WhatsApp, charges separately for messages a business starts, such as marketing messages and reminders sent from a template. The rate depends on the country and on the kind of message. None of the prices on this page include those fees unless the entry says so in the company's own words. Ask each provider how they count and pass them on.

CertuAI's price comes from its plans page, which is the same price the checkout charges. There is no display price that differs from the price you pay.

Prices change. If you are reading this months from now, open the address under each entry before you decide anything.

Other names you will see for this search

Tidio sells an AI agent called Lyro, but its pricing page showed us two different prices for the same plan on the same day ($24.17 and $15.83 a month for Starter), so we did not put a number next to it. ManyChat refused our automatic check and showed prices in Brazilian reais in a normal browser, so it is left out for the same reason.

Kommo and Trengo are good tools for teams that live in WhatsApp, and they appear in our WhatsApp CRM list and Wati alternatives list. We left them out here because their pricing pages talk about AI credits or AI surcharges, not a WhatsApp AI agent with a price we could add up.

A chatbot and an AI agent are not the same thing

A chatbot follows a path someone drew: a menu, buttons, "type 1 for prices". It works while the customer stays on the path. The moment they write "hi, do you deliver to Ikeja and how much for two?", the menu has no answer.

An AI agent reads the message the way the person wrote it, looks for the answer in what your business told it, and replies in plain words. The same agent can handle the second question, the third, and the one nobody expected.

Both are sold with the word "AI" on the website. The quick test: ask for a trial and send a messy, real question on purpose. That is where you see the difference.

The three numbers that change the real price

The AI add-on. On Zoko, AiSensy, Interakt and Wati, the AI agent is an extra on top of the plan. Add both numbers before you compare.

What the price covers. Look for how many AI replies or AI messages the price includes, and what each extra one costs. CertuAI covers up to 800 AI replies on Start and 2,500 on Pro; AiSensy includes 1,000 AI messages in its add-on; Interakt includes 100 and then charges $0.011 each.

WhatsApp's own fees. Meta charges separately for messages a business starts, like reminders and promotions, and the rate depends on the country. Ask every provider whether they add a markup on top. Zoko's Starter page, for example, lists a markup of $0.015 per conversation.

Which one should a small business pick?

If you have no one to set up flows and you want WhatsApp answered tonight, start with a tool where the AI agent is part of the price and learns from a conversation with you, like CertuAI.

If you run an online store and most questions are "where is my order", Zoko's store-focused agents are built for that. If you already send big broadcasts in India, adding an AI agent to AiSensy or Interakt keeps everything on one number. If you have a team of five or more, respond.io and Gallabox are built for many people sharing one inbox.

Questions people ask

What is the cheapest AI agent for WhatsApp?

Among the tools on this list that publish a price, the cheapest AI agent is Chatfuel AI PRO, at $49 a month on monthly billing and 29% less on yearly billing; its page says usage limits apply. Next come Zoko, from $74.98 a month with its AI agent add-on plus a fee per resolution after the first 100, and CertuAI at $75 a month, which covers up to 800 AI replies a month and includes a CRM.

Can an AI agent answer WhatsApp without me building a chatbot?

Yes, that is the point of an AI agent. You give it information about your business (prices, hours, what you sell, what it should not promise) and it writes the answer itself. Tools like CertuAI learn this from a chat with you; others ask you to fill in a knowledge base with documents or web pages.

Do I need a new WhatsApp number?

With CertuAI, no: you connect the number your business already uses. Other tools on this list work in different ways, so ask each one before you sign.

Will the AI agent make things up?

It can, if it has nothing to go on. The fix is to give it clear facts and clear limits, such as "never give a discount" or "if you are not sure, say someone will call back". Test it with hard questions before you let it talk to real customers.

Do these prices include what WhatsApp charges?

Usually not. Meta, the company that owns WhatsApp, charges separately for messages a business starts, like marketing messages and reminders. The rate depends on the country and on the kind of message. Each entry says what the company itself writes about this. Before you sign, ask the provider how they count those messages and whether they add anything on top.

Is this list paid or sponsored?

No. Nobody paid to be on it, and no link on this page earns CertuAI a commission. CertuAI is on the list because CertuAI wrote the list, and the page says so right under the title.
